New Islamabad Business Closing Times: Markets & Eateries
The government has categorized businesses with strictly enforced deadlines. Consequently, all shops, markets, shopping malls, bazaars, and departmental stores must close completely by 9:00 PM.
Meanwhile, standalone grocery stores and kiryana stores have a slightly later deadline. Marriage halls, marquees, and all other commercial places holding festive events must shut down by 10:00 PM.
Additionally, the administration addressed the food sector. Restaurants, cafes, eateries, food outlets, and standalone fruit and vegetable shops can operate until 11:00 PM. However, takeaway and home delivery services remain entirely exempt from this specific restriction.
Exemptions for Essential Services & IT
The district magistrate explicitly outlined several critical exemptions. Therefore, essential services will not face these operational time limits. Hospitals, clinics, medical laboratories, pharmacies, and medical supply stores will remain open. Similarly, standalone bakeries, standalone tandoors, and standalone milk and dairy shops hold full exemptions.
Furthermore, the transportation and fitness sectors retain their regular hours. Fuel pumps, CNG stations, and electrical vehicle charging stations can operate freely. Gyms, sport facilities, and padel courts also maintain their standard schedules. Finally, IT companies and call centers remain exempt and will continue their operations without any interruption.
Immediate Enforcement & Official Distribution
This directive is effective immediately. It formally acts in continuation of a previous notification dated June 3, 2026. Authorities will enforce this specific order until further notice.
Moreover, officials have distributed the official document to key regulatory branches to ensure strict compliance. Receivers include the Chief Commissioner Office, the Inspector General of Police, and the Chairman of the CDA. The Ministry of Information and PEMRA will also broadcast these changes widely across daily newspapers and news channels.
