The provincial government of Punjab has proposed allocating Rs. 10,000 million for the Kisan Card program to provide essential farming supplies to 1,000,000 local farmers.
This initiative will facilitate the procurement of fertilizers, seeds, and agricultural medicines to enhance total crop yields across the entire province during the upcoming financial year.
The provincial government utilized Rs. 5,000 million in the ongoing fiscal year to distribute subsidized tractors to 9,900 farmers under the popular Green Tractor Program.
The government also spent an additional Rs. 9,600 million to deliver high-power tractors to 9,300 farmers to improve overall mechanization throughout the farming sector.
The upcoming phase of the machinery initiative will provide 10,000 low-power tractors to eligible smallholders at a total cost of Rs. 7,000 million.
Furthermore, the provincial government will allocate Rs. 9,900 million to distribute 6,500 additional high-power tractors to farmers through another dedicated subsidy scheme.
The modern Water Efficient Agriculture Program has successfully utilized Rs. 7,810 million, providing direct benefits to 150,000 farmers across various regional districts.
Meanwhile, the provincial government is actively spending Rs. 8,820 million to convert 7,086 traditional agricultural tube wells to sustainable solar power systems.
The extensive Punjab Climate Resilient Program will deliver advanced agricultural machinery worth Rs. 36,120 million to modern farms to promote environmental sustainability.
Additionally, the province will invest Rs. 2,700 million to include 3,000 agricultural graduates in an official professional training internship program.
The Maryam Nawaz-led government plan to establish 10 new model agriculture malls to deliver multiple modern farming services to local communities under one single roof.
This operational expansion of specialized agriculture hubs across the province will require a total financial investment of Rs. 1,820 million from state funds.
