Over my ten years covering the consumer tech space, I’ve watched wearables evolve from clunky wrist-bound pedometers to sleek, invisible health monitors. The smart ring market, in particular, has been dominated by premium players like Oura, Ultrahuman, and recently, Samsung. But a new challenger has emerged from India: Gabit.
The Indian start-up has taken a slightly different approach by building a smart ring that focuses on delivering the core health tracking experience without pushing the price into flagship territory. The Gabit Ring gets a Titanium alloy construction as seen on its rivals with a lightweight polycarbonate shell, helping it cost roughly 30 percent less than competing options.
After using the Gabit Ring for nearly two weeks, here’s what I think.
Gabit Smart Ring Price & Availability
The Gabit Smart Ring is priced at ₹14,500 in India. You can pick it up directly from the Gabit Online Store.

Gabit Smart Ring Review:Design and Comfort
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Gabit Ring is just how light it feels. Once worn, it’s easy to forget that you’re even wearing it. Whether I was typing, working, walking or sleeping, the ring rarely felt intrusive, which is exactly what you want from a wearable that’s designed to stay on your finger throughout the day.
The biggest difference compared to rivals lies in the material choice. Instead of a thick titanium or metal-infused body, Gabit has opted for a lightweight Titanium alloy fused polycarbonate shell. It’s a practical decision that significantly reduces manufacturing costs and ultimately makes the ring much more affordable.
However, this choice does come with a trade-off.
The Titanium alloy exterior picks up scuffs and scratches fairly easily, which is not seen on any of its rivals. Even with regular everyday use, I noticed visible marks developing on the ring. They don’t affect functionality, but the ring may not retain its new look for very long.
During my review period, I also experienced mild skin irritation after wearing the ring continuously. Thankfully, it disappeared within a day or two without requiring any treatment. Still, people with sensitive skin may want to keep this in mind before wearing the ring around the clock.
Gabit Smart Ring Review: What's in the Box?
The unboxing experience is minimalist, perhaps a bit too minimalist. The retail package includes the smart ring along with a compact charging case that resembles a mini Galaxy Buds charging case. The ring snaps neatly into the charger and charges wirelessly once placed correctly.
However, there is a glaring omission. The box contents explicitly list a charging brick, but my review unit did not include either the charging adapter or a charging cable. You will need to supply your own USB-C cable and adapter to juice up the case.
Gabit Smart Ring Review: App Connectivity and Setup
Getting started with the Gabit Ring is refreshingly straightforward.
Simply wear the ring, install the Gabit app, enable Bluetooth, and the app guides you through the pairing process. The entire setup takes only a few minutes and is simple enough even for first-time smart ring users.
Throughout my testing, I didn’t experience any major connectivity issues. The ring remained connected reliably whenever I opened the companion app. However, the ring itself does not hold the activity data for long, so it is ideal that you sync the data regularly.
Gabit Smart Ring Review: The Gabit App
The Gabit companion app is one of the strongest parts of the overall experience.
It presents your health metrics in a clean and organised manner, making it easy to understand everything from sleep quality to heart rate trends. Despite offering plenty of data, the health dashboard itself doesn’t feel cluttered.
Where things become a little overwhelming is everything beyond health tracking.
Gabit is gradually evolving into a broader wellness platform, and the app reflects that ambition. Alongside health insights, you’ll regularly come across recommendations for vitamins, protein supplements and other wellness products, either from Gabit or its partner brands. Frequent notifications and promotional banners inside the app occasionally distract from the otherwise polished user experience.
Personally, I would have preferred a cleaner experience that focused more on health data and less on product recommendations.
That said, there are plenty of genuinely useful additions.
The app includes an AI-powered fitness coach that provides personalised suggestions for workouts, nutrition and overall fitness. It also allows you to log meals, helping you keep track of calorie intake throughout the day. As someone who enjoys good food but constantly tries to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I found this feature surprisingly useful and easy to incorporate into my daily routine.
Gabit Smart Ring Review: Bio-Marker Suite and Accuracy
The Gabit Ring covers almost every health metric you’d expect from a modern smart ring.
It tracks:
- Heart rate
- Resting heart rate
- VO₂ Max
- Skin temperature
- Sleep
- Activity
- Steps
- Calories burned
For day-to-day wellness tracking, the data feels comprehensive and easy to understand.
When it comes to accuracy, I’d place the Gabit Ring somewhere alongside a good mid-range fitness tracker. Heart rate monitoring remained fairly consistent during my testing, and sleep insights appeared believable based on my daily routine.
Step counting, however, wasn’t always as accurate as I would have liked. There were occasions where the recorded steps felt slightly off compared to other wearables I was using simultaneously.
Fortunately, the automatic activity detection impressed me much more.
Whenever I headed out for a walk or started running, the ring detected the activity remarkably quickly. It consistently recognised my workouts without requiring manual intervention at the start.
The only inconvenience is what happens afterwards.
To properly log the workout, you still need to open the Gabit app, wait for the ring to sync, and then manually select the activity that was performed. It’s not a major issue, but the entire workflow could certainly be more seamless.
Gabit Smart Ring Review: Battery Life
Battery life is another area where the Gabit Ring performs well.
The company claims up to eight days of usage depending on the ring size, since each size houses a slightly different battery capacity.
I tested the Size 12 variant, and my experience closely matched the company’s claim. With normal daily usage, including sleep tracking and continuous health monitoring, I comfortably reached around eight days before needing to recharge.
For most users, charging once a week should be sufficient.
Gabit Smart Ring Review: No Subscription Is a Huge Win
Perhaps the Gabit Ring’s biggest advantage isn’t its hardware, it’s what happens after you buy it.
Unlike competitors such as Ultrahuman and Oura, Gabit doesn’t lock advanced insights behind a monthly subscription. Once you’ve purchased the ring, all of its health tracking capabilities remain available without asking you to pay recurring membership fees.
In a category where subscriptions have almost become the norm, this is a refreshing approach and one that significantly improves the long-term value of the product.
For many buyers, this single advantage could easily outweigh several of the compromises the ring makes elsewhere.
Review Verdict: Should You Buy The Gabit Smart Ring?
The Gabit Ring may not be the most premium-looking smart ring on the market, nor is it the most affordable option in the fitness tracker market today. The Titanium body scratches relatively easily, step counting could be more precise, and the companion app occasionally pushes wellness products a little too aggressively.
Yet, despite these shortcomings, the Gabit Ring succeeds where it matters most.
It delivers reliable health tracking, excellent automatic workout detection, solid battery life, a comfortable lightweight design and an easy-to-use companion app, all at a considerably lower price than most established smart rings.
The absence of a mandatory subscription is the icing on the cake. Instead of paying extra every month just to access your own health data, you buy the ring once and continue using all of its features without worrying about recurring costs.
For anyone looking to enter the world of smart rings without spending flagship money, the Gabit Ring offers an excellent starting point. It isn’t perfect, but it gets the fundamentals right, delivers good value for money and proves that affordable smart rings don’t necessarily have to compromise on the overall experience.
