The Custom Chunky Phone Case has a bit of blind-box allure in that you don’t know exactly what you’re getting until you open the box. To order, choose a phone model, and write out, in paragraph form, any desired and abhorred design details. Then, Chunky sends out a made-to-order, one-of-a-kind case fitting that description in six to eight weeks. When editor Hannah Rimm ordered hers, she hit the 500-character maximum describing herself (a writer with pink hair who loves burgers, veggies, and dirty martinis, etc.). The result? “It’s so cuteeeee,” enthused Hannah about her surprise black case with 10 charms, including a pink-bunned burger, pencil, and martini. Just note that the custom products are non-refundable, so if you think your giftee would prefer to fill out their design preferences themselves, send them a gift card instead.
