Here’s how iPhone Ultra’s form factor could compare to other Apple products

Next month, Apple will be unveiling its first foldable iPhone – rumored to be called iPhone Ultra. It’s going to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner display. Late last month, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 – and it comes with those same screen sizes.

Whether or not you believe Samsung only made this phone to preempt the iPhone Ultra is a different story – but one way or another, seeing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 gives us a great early idea of what iPhone Ultra will feel like in the real world.

Reviewers who have early access to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 have posted plenty of comparison photos of it and other devices on Twitter. Since the iPhone Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 8 are going to be dimensionally similar, this serves as a great representation of how iPhone Ultra will look and feel in the real world.

Ray Wong posted multiple comparisons of Galazy Z Fold 8, against the previous generation iPad mini, highlighting that you’re truly getting an iPad mini-like display in your pocket – just without the chunkier bezels.

Meanwhile, enthusiast Shishir shared photos comparing the iPhone 13 mini to the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The iPhone 13 mini is slightly taller than the foldable, though it is similarly small. For those who mourn the loss of iPhone mini, iPhone Ultra could get you pretty close.

Personally, seeing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 last week made me more excited for the iPhone Ultra than ever. The two should be nearly identical in terms of physical form factor (though iPhone Ultra will have curved corners) – so it may truly be our best idea of what Apple has in store before we get to see it in September.

Of course, you can also look at dummy model images for additional comparison.
