UK Opens Applications for Chevening Scholarships and Startup Fellowship

The United Kingdom has opened applications for the Chevening Scholarships, the Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship, and the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship, offering fully funded education and professional development opportunities for Pakistani students, researchers, and entrepreneurs.

The British High Commission said the initiatives aim to support emerging leaders, academics, and startup founders by providing access to world-class education, research opportunities, and international professional networks.

The Chevening Scholarship offers fully funded one-year master’s degree programs at universities across the UK for candidates demonstrating strong leadership potential. Meanwhile, the Chevening OCIS Fellowship enables mid-career academics and professionals to conduct independent research at the University of Oxford.

The Commonwealth Startup Fellowship is designed for entrepreneurs, helping them strengthen their businesses through mentorship from UK experts, business development training, and support to scale their ventures internationally.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott encouraged applicants to submit authentic applications based on their own experiences, achievements, and aspirations. She also warned that candidates who use AI-generated responses during the application process could face disqualification.

Successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial support, including airfare, tuition fees, visa costs, and living expenses.

Applications for the Chevening Scholarship and the Chevening OCIS Fellowship are now open through their respective official portals, while applications for the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship will remain open until September 1, 2026.
