Enhance Productivity with Plugable’s UD-MSTH3 Docking Station

Plugable has introduced the UD-MSTH3, a 14-port USB-C docking station designed to run as many as three external displays on compatible Windows and ChromeOS computers without requiring added software or display drivers.

The dock uses Multi-Stream Transport, or MST, to handle multi-monitor output directly through supported USB-C, USB4, and Thunderbolt ports. It is aimed at hybrid workers, IT departments, and productivity-focused users who need a larger desktop setup without stepping up to a pricier Thunderbolt dock.

The UD-MSTH3 is available now through Amazon and Plugable for $149.99. A 30% launch discount lowers the initial price to $104.99.

Dual 4K Or Triple-Display Support

The UD-MSTH3 can power two displays at up to 4K resolution and 60Hz, which should suit users who want sharp text, smooth motion, and plenty of room for documents, browser windows, and creative applications.

A triple-display configuration is available with one monitor running at 4K 60Hz and two more operating at 1080p 60Hz. Three native HDMI 2.0 ports let users connect common monitors without collecting a small museum of adapters.

Select computers that support Display Stream Compression may reach two 4K 60Hz displays plus a third 4K 30Hz panel. Results depend on the host computer, graphics hardware, display configuration, and compression support.

Full high-resolution performance requires a compatible laptop with an Intel 12th-generation processor, AMD Ryzen 6000-series processor, or newer hardware.

Built For Windows And ChromeOS

MST support is built into Windows and ChromeOS, allowing the UD-MSTH3 to extend the desktop across multiple screens without installing software.

Mac computers can connect to the dock, though macOS does not support MST for multiple extended displays. Mac users will receive one extended screen, with extra monitors mirroring the same content. Plugable directs Mac owners toward its Thunderbolt or DisplayLink docks when independent multi-monitor output is required.

A modern workspace featuring three screens displaying data analytics and financial graphics, with a laptop and accessories on a sleek desk.

That platform distinction makes the UD-MSTH3 a more focused product than a one-size-fits-all dock. Windows and Chromebook users receive the full display feature set, and Mac owners get a fairly clear warning before the cable drawer enters the conversation.

Fourteen Ports And Up To 100W Charging

The dock supplies up to 100W of USB-C Power Delivery to a connected laptop. A separate front-facing USB-C port delivers up to 30W for charging phones, tablets, and other portable devices.

Connectivity includes two 10Gbps USB-C ports, one 10Gbps USB-A port, two rear 5Gbps USB-A ports, and one USB-A 2.0 port. Plugable includes SD and microSD card readers, a 3.5mm audio connection, and 2.5Gbps Ethernet for wired networking.

A 150W power supply comes in the box. The dock can sit horizontally or stand vertically, and K-lock security slots provide an option for shared offices and managed workspaces.

Plugable backs the UD-MSTH3 with a two-year warranty and North American customer support. More information is available through the official Plugable website.
