Samsung continues to lead the global DRAM market in Q2 2026

According to Counterpoint’s report on the second quarter of this year, Samsung is great winner from the rising DRAM prices in the same quarter. The Korean tech giant is widening the gap between itself and its biggest competitor, SK Hynix.

Samsung continues to lead the global DRAM market in Q2 2026

In Q2 2026, Samsung captured 39% of the global DRAM sales and secured the first spot for a third quarter in a row. The Korean company is followed by SK Hynix, securing 26% of the sales, which in turn is closely followed by Micron with a 25% share. CMXT gets only 7%, and the remaining share goes to other smaller manufacturers.

Counterpoint’s analysts say that the rising DRAM prices are not the only reason why Samsung is making big strides. The company has also expanded its presence in the HBM (high-bandwidth memory) segment as well. In fact, Samsung managed to secure its positions in the HBM niche despite falling HBM prices.

However, market analysis suggests that HBM prices will rebound in Q3 2026 and will continue to rise as Nvidia is expected to ship its Vera Rubin GPUs and AMD will launch its Instinct MI455X GPUs.
