For AndroidGuys, few days on the calendar are as welcome as new Pixel day. Google has officially introduced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, bringing a new Tensor G6 processor, revised camera hardware, faster charging, tougher displays, and deeper Gemini integration to its latest Android flagships.
Pricing starts at $899 for the Pixel 11, $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro, and $1,299 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL. Pre-orders are open now, with all three phones reaching the Google Store and retail partners on August 20. Also officially making its debut today is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 5.
A Familiar Pixel Design Gets Smoother
Google hasn’t thrown out the Pixel design language. Instead, it has refined it. All three phones retain the recognizable camera bar with edge-to-edge glass. On the Pixel 11, Google says the camera bar is 40% thinner than earlier base-model Pixels, leaving the phone nearly flush when paired with a Made by Google case.
The Pixel 11 gets an Actua display, satin metal frame, polished glass back, and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. Color choices include Pistachio, Hibiscus, Frost, and Obsidian.
The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL step up to Google’s brightest Super Actua displays yet, rated at up to 3,600 nits, paired with a new coating that Google says provides more than twice the scratch resistance of the Pixel 10 Pro.
Pro models come in Canyon, Fog, Olive, and matte Obsidian.
Cameras Get New Sensors And Much Longer Zoom
The Pixel 11 receives a new 48-megapixel main sensor that Google says offers 56% greater light sensitivity than the Pixel 10. Its 5x telephoto camera can now reach 30x Super Zoom.
Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL receive a new main camera sensor along with a redesigned 48-megapixel telephoto camera featuring a larger sensor and 30% greater light sensitivity. Portrait Mode can now operate at 5x, and Google’s Pro Zoom stretches to 120x.
Tensor G6 and an updated image signal processor play a role here too. Google says Night Sight captures images up to 4.5 times faster than on recent Pixel generations.
HiLight Brings Notifications To The Camera Bar
One of the more interesting additions appears exclusively on the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL.
Google calls it HiLight, a system of colored LEDs built around the camera flash that provides information while the phone is face down. The lights can indicate when Gemini is listening, thinking, or responding, while incoming callers can be assigned custom colors.
Google plans to expand HiLight later with features including message notifications for selected contacts. It feels a little like the notification LED graduated, got a nicer apartment, and moved into the camera bar.
Tensor G6 Puts More Gemini Processing On The Phone
All three Pixel 11 models run Google’s new Tensor G6 chip. Google claims its upgraded CPU provides 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches compared with Tensor G5.
The chip carries 50% more TPU compute and runs the latest Gemini Nano model. Google says on-device AI processing can be up to 3.5 times faster while consuming up to 3.5 times less energy, based on its internal testing.
Security gets new hardware too, with Google’s Titan M3 security chip working alongside Tensor G6 and bringing post-quantum cryptography to the device’s secure boot process.
Pricing, Charging, And Availability
Every Pixel 11 model now starts with 256GB of storage and supports Pixelsnap magnetic accessories. Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro add Qi2.2 charging at up to 25W, and Google says the Pixel 11 Pro XL can regain up to 15 hours of battery life from 15 minutes of wired charging with its 45W USB-C charger.
Google is promising seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates across the lineup. Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL buyers receive six months of Google AI Pro, which includes expanded Gemini usage, 5TB of cloud storage, and Google Health Premium.
The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL are available for pre-order now starting at $899, $1,099, and $1,299, respectively, with retail availability beginning August 20 through the Google Store and participating partners.
