Poco M8x gets a new look
The first teaser shows the Poco M8x 5G in a dark green finish, with what looks like a textured rear panel. There is also a square camera island in the top-left corner, with gold accents around it. We can see at least one camera in the teaser, although other images suggest there could be two sensors on the back.

To be honest, I like what Poco is doing here. The regular Poco M8 5G has a curved design with a much smaller camera module, so the M8x already looks like a different phone rather than another M8 with a new name. Whether the back is actually vegan leather remains to be confirmed, though.
The power and volume buttons are on the right side, while the Poco logo sits near the bottom of the phone. That’s pretty much everything Poco is willing to show us for now.
Where does the M8x fit?
Here’s the thing, though. We still don’t know exactly where the M8x 5G will sit in Poco’s growing lineup.
The “x” name could give us a clue. Poco has used that letter on some of its cheaper C-series phones before, so the M8x could end up as a more affordable option in the M8 family. One report suggests it may even launch below INR 20,000 in India (approximately 180 EUR), but that is still speculation at this point.
And I wouldn’t start guessing the specs just yet. Poco has not confirmed the screen, chip, cameras, battery or charging speed, so anything beyond the design is still up in the air.
Still, another affordable 5G phone from Poco isn’t exactly a surprise. The company has built much of its name around offering good hardware at low prices, and the M8x looks ready to follow the same path.
Now we just need to find out what that “x” actually gets you.
