Google lets users remove watermarks from AI generations

Google announced last Friday that users can now remove watermarks from its AI-generated content.

This was confirmed by Josh Woodward, the company’s VP for Gemini, who posted on X.

Woodward wrote: “Papercut fixed: You can now toggle visible watermarks on or off in Gemini and Flow, with Search coming next. This applies to watermarks on all images (Nano Banana), videos (Omni), and songs (Lyria) except in countries where it’s required by law to keep them.”

Here is the screenshot he shared on X.

This gives users more control over how their AI-generated content looks, whether it’s images, videos, or music, without the visible watermark that previously marked it as AI-generated. Woodward noted that this toggle is already live in Gemini and Flow, with support coming to Search next.
