Widgets are trending again as a great part of the Android experience. The feature has been there for generations, but Google has been giving more focus recently to make them more useful and functional. The company recently unveiled
Gemini’s new feature called Create My Widget. It lets the user to customize widgets and add functionality to the home screen. Now, it seems that Samsung is doing the same with its
One UI 9.5.
Samsung’s One UI 9.5 My Custom Widget Could Be a Rebranding Of Google’s Gemini Feature
According to a new leak, Samsung will unveil in
One UI 9.5 a new feature labeled as “My Custom Widget”. The leaked screenshot shared by
Fahad Ali Javed
shows the feature. It’s unclear whether this is a rebranding of Google’s feature or a native feature of One UI 9.5.
For now, the exact details of how this will work on One UI 9.5 are unclear. However, we can expect it to work similarly to
Google’s AI feature. The search giant revealed that its Create My Widget feature will launch on both Pixel and
Galaxy devices by the end of this summer.
Note that Google has explicitly confirmed this is coming to Galaxy devices. So, we wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung’s feature ends up being part of
Google Gemini.
These smartphones launched with One UI 9.0. It may take a while before the company releases its One UI 9.5
update.
One UI 9.5 Expected to Bring New Features and Design Enhancements
Besides the new AI-powered Widget creation feature, Samsung’s next update will be a big one. The brand will make animations smoother, enhancing the fluidity of the overall UI’s experience.
The Korean firm is also revamping the fingerprint enrollment UI. The camera app is also getting design tweaks, with a menu container curvature and padding, as well as a subtle background blur on pop-ups.
The update will also add new Finder and Google Search bar options for the home screen on older devices. The brand also plans to enhance mirroring to a PC, though this might require a Galaxy Book.
The Update Could Debut with the Galaxy S27 Family
The update should be a few months away, since the rumors point to a release with the
Samsung Galaxy S27 family early next year. Well, we can try to be optimistic, but that’s how Samsung has been doing it in past years. Every flagship lineup serves as the debut for the next big One UI update.
