beyerdynamic MMX 100 and MMX 130 Wireless Gaming Headsets Launch With 80+ Hour Battery Life

beyerdynamic is expanding its MMX gaming headset family with two new wireless options aimed at gamers who want high-quality audio, comfortable designs, and flexible connectivity without moving into premium pricing.

The new MMX 100 wireless and MMX 130 wireless combine the German audio brand’s professional sound expertise with modern gaming features, including three connection methods, low-latency wireless audio, detachable microphones, and long battery life.

Two Headsets, Two Different Sound Experiences

The MMX 100 wireless uses a closed-back design, making it the better choice for gamers who want stronger isolation from their surroundings. Its construction helps reduce outside noise and limits sound leakage, making the headset suitable for shared rooms, busy environments, LAN events, and competitive multiplayer gaming.

MMX 100

The MMX 130 wireless, meanwhile, adopts an open-back design. This gives players a broader and more natural soundstage, allowing game audio, dialogue, environmental effects, and background details to sound more spacious.

Its open construction is particularly suited to quieter environments and games where atmosphere is important. Players enjoying cinematic adventures, narrative-heavy titles, or lengthy gaming sessions may prefer the more open presentation of the MMX 130 wireless.

Tuned for Gaming and Voice Chat

Both headsets feature a carefully tuned 40 mm driver designed to deliver accurate directional audio and natural sound reproduction. The MMX 130 wireless goes a step further with a titanium-coated driver aimed at improving its audio performance.

For communication, each model comes with a detachable META VOICE microphone. The microphone is designed for clear voice transmission during multiplayer sessions and can be removed when the headset is being used for music or general entertainment.

Three Ways to Connect

Connectivity is one of the key features shared by the two models. Gamers can choose between Bluetooth 6.0, a low-latency USB-C wireless dongle, or a wired analog connection.

The USB-C dongle provides latency of under 30 milliseconds, making it suitable for gaming where quick audio response is important. The headsets can be used with PCs, gaming consoles, smartphones, and handheld gaming devices.

Built for Long Gaming Sessions

beyerdynamic has equipped both models with soft velour ear cushions and more than 80 hours of battery life, allowing users to spend extended periods gaming without frequent charging.

Durability is another focus. The headsets feature aluminum sliders and stainless-steel hinges, while the battery, ear pads, and headband pads can be replaced. The ear pads attach magnetically, allowing users to change them without tools.

Both headsets can also fold flat, making them easier to transport.

Control Through the beyerdynamic App

The two wireless models work with the beyerdynamic app, giving users access to additional settings and customization options.

Through the app, gamers can adjust the EQ and configure features such as automatic shutdown, voice assistant controls, and voice prompts.
