iOS stopwatch keeps running, after being stopped, on lock screen and in dynamic island

Yesterday I set a running stopwatch. I stopped it before I went to bed.

This morning I woke up and see the timer somehow still running on the lock screen and in the dynamic island…?

This supposed running stopwatch is not visible at all inside of the Clock app. I stopped the stopwatch timer yesterday, so it’s correctly gone…

So I restarted the iPhone, expecting that to fix the problem. Instead, the first thing the newly restarted lockscreen showed was the still-running stopwatch!

Is this a legitimate stopwatch mode of some kind? Or a complete bug? How can I get rid of this ghost phantom running stopwatch without being able to see it within the Clock app? Why is the running stopwatch out of sync with the Clock app?
