Public transport on multiple routes in Mianwali came to a standstill after the Punjab Green Electro Bus Service was suspended following a power breakdown at the electric charging terminal, leaving commuters stranded across the district.
According to sources, the electro buses could not be charged after the power supply system at the terminal failed, forcing the suspension of green bus operations on all affected routes.
Passengers gathered at various bus terminals were left without their usual mode of transport, and many faced serious difficulty arranging alternative travel.
The disruption has proven advantageous for private transport operators, who have seen a surge in business as commuters turn to other means of travel in the absence of the green bus service.
Residents have called on the authorities to urgently restore power at the charging terminal and resume the Green Electro Bus Service, saying prompt action is needed to end the travel hardship faced by commuters.
