ASUS Republic of Gamers has released the ROG Gjallar in the U.S., marking the brand’s first gaming soundbar. Priced at $599.99, the desktop-focused audio system pairs a 5.1.2-channel soundbar with a wireless subwoofer, Dolby Atmos support, and a dedicated control hub built for gaming and voice communication.
The ROG Gjallar is designed to handle audio across gaming PCs, consoles, handhelds, Macs, mobile devices, and TVs, making it a potential centerpiece for setups where headphones are not always the preferred option.
Dolby Atmos With A Wireless Subwoofer
The ROG Gjallar uses a 5.1.2-channel speaker arrangement with dedicated up-firing drivers for Dolby Atmos height effects. ASUS says the configuration can provide more precise positioning for footsteps, environmental sounds, and other directional audio cues.
A wireless 6.5-inch, 65W subwoofer handles lower frequencies such as explosions, soundtrack bass, and other effects. It connects over a dedicated 5GHz wireless connection and can be placed separately from the soundbar without running an audio cable across the room.
The slim subwoofer design should make placement easier around desks, entertainment centers, and other gaming furniture where available floor space tends to disappear quickly.
The Control Hub Handles Audio And Voice Chat
ASUS includes a separate desktop audio control hub with an LCD display. Players can use it to adjust volume, playback, inputs, EQ profiles, and Aura RGB lighting without digging through software menus during a game.
The hub doubles as a microphone system for multiplayer communication. It combines integrated microphones with a dedicated digital signal processor, Acoustic Echo Cancellation, and an AI beamforming algorithm.
According to ASUS, the system can distinguish between voices, game audio coming from the speakers, and ambient room noise. The goal is to let players use voice chat without wearing a headset while reducing echo and background interference.
Settings can be managed through ASUS Gear Link, a web-based customization platform available through a browser or the Gear Link mobile app. Users can change EQ profiles, microphone settings, lighting, display preferences, and firmware settings from there.
Built To Connect With PCs, Consoles, And TVs
Connectivity includes USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical audio, a 3.5mm AUX input, and Bluetooth 5.3.
ASUS lists support for gaming PCs, Macs, mobile devices, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and TVs. HDMI 2.1 can pass through video at up to 4K and 120Hz, giving the Gjallar enough bandwidth for high-refresh-rate console and PC gaming setups.
Two USB Type-A ports are built into the system for wireless receivers and other gaming peripherals, potentially reducing the number of cables and adapters occupying the desk.

The ASUS ROG Gjallar Gaming Soundbar is available now in the United States for $599.99 through the ASUS eShop and Best Buy.
Its price places it firmly in premium gaming-audio territory, but the package covers several roles at once: Dolby Atmos speakers, a wireless subwoofer, desktop audio controls, broad device connectivity, and a microphone system designed to remove the headset from multiplayer voice chat.
