The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (I&P) is preparing to launch a new passport booklet featuring an updated design and enhanced security features, officials confirmed following a review visit to the Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC).
DG Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Rindhava toured PSPC facilities to examine passport production processes and existing security measures. During the visit, officials finalized discussions on the design and printing specifications for the new booklet and reviewed plans to incorporate advanced security features into its production.
A proposal to introduce modern security technology on the polycarbonate data page was also discussed. Officials additionally reviewed a phased roadmap for the issuance and rollout of the new passport booklet.
Rindhava emphasized that robust supply chain management was critical to ensuring an uninterrupted supply of passports nationwide. He urged all stakeholders to strengthen coordination and cooperation, noting that safeguarding the sanctity, integrity, and security of Pakistani passports remained a top priority.
He added that passport security was an ongoing process requiring continuous adoption of the latest security technologies. The Immigration and Passports Department and PSPC reaffirmed their joint commitment to further strengthening passport security and production systems.
