Google is testing a new human verification method within search. Initially, the button appears grey, and once verification is complete, it turns blue.
This was first spotted by Glenn Gabe, who shared a screenshot on X.
He wrote: “Just saw this while searching Google. The “Continue” button was grayed out for a few seconds before turning blue… Yep, they aren’t messing around with scraping… They want humans as much as possible”
Here is the screenshot he shared.
This looks like another step in Google’s ongoing efforts to limit automated scraping and bot activity within search results, following other anti-bot measures we’ve covered recently, like the google.com/goto tracking URL rollout.
