LEGOLAND Florida Resort just gave us a major reason to spend the winter holiday season in Florida: an all-new drone show.
The lego-themed resort and theme park announced the return of its fan-favorite Christmas Bricktacular, which is a special event running on select dates from Nov. 21, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027. And while the usual holiday festivities will return for the 2026 version (including a 30-foot-tall LEGO Christmas tree and seasonal Minifigure photo ops), this year’s version features an all-new Christmas drone show featuring LEGO Santa.
Details are pretty light on the drone show, but you should expect to see a brick-inspired, illuminated LEGO Santa fly through the air.
Beyond the drone show, entertainment will include a rap battle show, an interactive light trail (basically an outdoor walk-through experience with light displays and Lego building stations along the way) and seasonal food available for purchase.

Christmas Bricktacular 2026 runs on the following dates:
- November: 21, 22, 27, 28, 29
- December: 5, 6, 12, 13, 18–31
- January: 1, 2, 3
All Christmas Bricktacular activities—including the drone show—are included with regular park admission and Annual Passes.
And here’s my money-saving pro-tip for annual passholders: LEGOLAND is currently running a promotion through Sept. 30, 2026: if you buy a 2027 Annual Pass now, you get the rest of 2026 for free, which gives you full access to both Brick or Treat (a Halloween-themed event) and Christmas Bricktacular.
Orlando’s drone show history
The addition of drones to LEGOLAND’s holiday lineup adds another chapter to Central Florida’s growing history with drone shows, with the region becoming something of a battleground for high-tech nighttime entertainment.
It all started back in 2016 when Walt Disney World made history by partnering with Intel for Starbright Holidays at Disney Springs. Featuring 300 drones, it was one of the first times a major U.S. resort put on its own drone show. Since then, we’ve seen bigger and better drone shows at Orlando’s theme parks or resorts, including Disney Dreams That Soar (held once again at Disney Springs), as well as drone shows at Universal Orlando.
However, Central Florida’s drone show story hasn’t been without its growing pains. The drone inudstry got a stark reminder of the technical precision required for drone shows during a December 2024 holiday show at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando. A technical issue caused dozens of drones to collide midair and plummet, resulting in a severe injury to a child in the audience, as well as a subsequent NTSB investigation.
