That’s why, like many others, I’m a fan of using Bluetooth tracking accessories to keep watch on my luggage, wallet, and more.

There are tons of Bluetooth gadgets on the market, and many people are loyal to particular products and brands. This Bluetooth passport cover was recommended by gadget reviewer Adrian Kingsley-Hughes, and it’s been a great addition to my Bluetooth gadget collection. Ultimately, this isn’t a necessity, but for someone prone to losing things, it’s a potential trip saver. While traveling through several airports, it was easy to keep my passport and a few key debit cards all in one spot and accessible, and it made it much more difficult for my passport to accidentally fall out of any bag I was using. Since the cover is enabled with FindMy, you can track it like you would an AirTag, and it was a great relief to be able to quickly double-check where my passport was anytime I wanted. I thought this was especially great while I transferred trains and planes in Italy, so I could ensure it followed me wherever I went.

KeySmart’s SmartCard Bluetooth tracker is another tried-and-true ZDNET gadget. Another favorite of Adrian’s, this card simply pops into any wallet like a credit card and adds Bluetooth FindMy technology. While traveling, I slipped this card into my wallet and could locate it wherever and whenever I wanted, and I could always check whether it was on my person without even opening my bag.

Like many other travelers, I also popped AirTags into my checked suitcase and my carry-on backpack. Not only is this a good idea in case your belongings go missing at the airport, but, as with my passport and wallet, it also made it easy to tell when I really did have all my belongings with me. The newer Gen 2 AirTags seem to offer better location tracking than the previous model, but I used both on my trip. Just remember to ensure you have a good battery capacity before you leave for any long trips if you’re planning to use AirTags to track your bags.
