Spring came early in the Rocky Mountains this year and I have been lucky to try out Stio’s spring collection. As the snow melted and our last spring ski days turned into days on the river and Spring Break travel, it was awesome to try out Stio’s CFS apparel. The CFS line features men’s and women’s tops and bottoms that are designed for use on the water, floating rivers or exploring high mountain lakes.
I tried out Stio’s CFS Hooded Anorak and CFS Drifter Short while floating and fishing the river in Colorado and while traveling to Puerto Rico’s beaches. The lightweight, quick drying material used in all of Stio’s CFS apparel partnered well with my adventures on the water. I love the look and feel of these pieces, they travel well, and they are comfortable for all day wear.

Stio Women’s CFS Apparel Fabric
The fabric used for both Stio’s CFS Hooded Anorak and CFS Drifter Short is reSphero™ HO Stretch Poplin, 88% Recycled Polyester 12% Spandex, 75 denier, 145 g/m2 with PFAS-free Water-Resistant Finish. It is stretchy, smooth, and due to the water-resistance, dries exceptionally quickly if it does get wet. The fabric is also 50+ UPF so provides excellent sun protection, which is essential for long days on the water.
Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak
Stio Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak is a convenient pullover jacket with a half zip in a contrasting color. It features encased elastic cuffs and an adjustable hem. The hood is a relaxed fit and has adjustable drawcords. There is a kangaroo pocket for your hands and a hidden zippered stash pocket that doubles as a bag that you can fold the jacket into for storage.

Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak Fit and Feel
The Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak comes in four colors and six sizes, XS through XXL. I ordered a size Small in the color Horizon, which is a light blue with contrasting zippers and orange zipper pulls. The jacket has a looser relaxed fit on me with sufficient sleeve length. The adjustable hem can be cinched or left loose for a boxier fit. The hood also has an adjustable drawcord that you can cinch down to keep out the wind.

Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak Performance
I first tried out the Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak on a warm spring ski day. It was great for a lightweight layer that provided wind protection and water resistance with the slushy snow. I have found the Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak perfect to throw in as a layer on day-long raft trips. The water resistance is great for keeping river splashes from soaking me, and it dries quickly. I also used this as my jacket for travel to Puerto Rico. It was a comfortable extra layer for the air conditioned airplane and quick passing rain showers. While not completely water proof, it kept me sufficiently dry. The Women’s CFS Hooded Anorak did provide great sun protection, but was a little too warm for the tropics or the hottest days on the river.

Women’s CFS Drifter Short
Stio Women’s CFS Drifter Short is an easy pull-on short that is perfect for summer days on the water. The shorts are designed with a regular fit, not too tight, not too baggy, and they come in a 3 inch or 5 inch inseam. A wide, comfortable elastic waistband is adjustable with a rubber cinch interior drawcord at the waistband. The shorts have two hand pockets and a drop-in pocket with a contrasting color zipper that fits a phone or keys with an interior loop to secure keys.
Women’s CFS Drifter Short Fit and Feel
The Women’s CFS Drifter Short comes in five colors and five sizes XS through XL. I ordered the size XS and color Boundless, a deep teal green. The sizing of the shorts were perfect for me. The wide elastic waistband and stretch fabric made for comfortable all-day wear at the beach. I did not need the drawstring, and the rubber cinch was somewhat uncomfortable pushed against my skin. I ended up removing the cinch part and it was much more comfortable.

Women’s CSF Drifter Short Performance
I have worn the Women’s CFS Drifter Short rowing our raft on the river. Again, the material is great at resisting water and splashes, and if I do get wet these shorts dry quickly. These shorts were great for travel to the tropics. They resist wrinkling so they travel well in my suitcase. They were perfect for throwing on over my swimsuit for more sun protection. And the shorts dried quickly when I wore them into the ocean. The Women’s CSF Drifter Short has been my go-to as spring has turned to summer. In addition to days on the river, I wear them for hikes, around town, and trips to the swimming pool.

Final Thoughts on the Stio Women’s CFS Apparel
Stio’s Women’s CFS collection proved to be a versatile and reliable companion for spring and summer adventures on and around the water. The CFS Hooded Anorak and CFS Drifter Short both feature lightweight, quick-drying recycled stretch fabric with UPF 50+ sun protection and a PFAS-free water-resistant finish, making them ideal for rafting, fishing, beach travel, and everyday outdoor wear. The Anorak impressed with its packability, wind resistance, and ability to shed light moisture, while the Drifter Short stood out for its comfort, flattering fit, wrinkle resistance, and all-day performance from river trips to hikes and travel. While the Anorak can feel warm in tropical conditions and the waistband cinch on the shorts may not suit everyone, both pieces deliver excellent comfort, functionality, and durability for active women seeking stylish apparel that transitions seamlessly between water-based adventures and everyday life.
