Oppo unveiled the Reno16 and Reno16 Pro in China last month, and today the brand announced these phones for international markets, though with some spec changes. Additionally, Oppo introduced the Reno16 F and Reno16 FS as the newest members of the Reno16 series. Let’s talk about the Reno16 F first.
The Oppo Reno16 F is built around a 6.57″ 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display with 10-bit color depth, 1,400 nits peak brightness, and 397 ppi pixel density. The display also has an optical fingerprint reader embedded for biometric authentication and a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera. More on that in a bit.
Like the global Reno16 and Reno16 Pro, the Reno16 F also features a 3D Pop Planet Design on its back cover, but it’s exclusive to the Pop White model. The rear cover also features a squircle-shaped camera island housing three cameras: a 50MP primary with OIS, a 50MP 3.5x telephoto with OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide with autofocus.
The ultrawide selfie camera on the front uses a 50MP sensor with autofocus and has 100° FOV. It can also record 4K videos like the primary camera. Moreover, the Reno16 F has a feature called 4K Auto Straighten Video, which records in 4K with horizon stabilization that corrects up to 5° of tilt to keep your footage level as you move.
Powering the Oppo Reno16 F is MediaTek’s Dimensity Energy 7300 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The smartphone comes with up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage onboard, and runs Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box. However, there’s no word from Oppo on how many years of software support the Reno16 F will receive.
Keeping the lights on for the Reno16 F is a 7,000 mAh battery with 80W charging support. However, in Europe, the phone will only charge at up to 45W.
The rest of the highlights of the Oppo Reno16 F include an AI Snap Key, Splash Touch support for the screen, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
The Oppo Reno16 F will be available in Pop White, Twilight Violet, and Dream Purple colors.
Let’s talk about the Oppo Reno16 FS now, which, according to Oppo’s German website, is the same as the German Reno16 F, with the only difference being storage space. The German Reno16 F has 256GB of storage onboard, while the Reno16 FS has 512GB storage.
Moreover, the Reno16 FS and the German Reno16 F pack 6,500 mAh batteries having 45W charging support. The rest of the specs and features of the Reno16 FS and the German Reno16 F are the same as the international Reno16 F.
The Oppo Reno16 F’s 8GB/256GB model is priced at €549 in Germany, while the Reno16 FS’ 8GB/512GB model costs €649. Both smartphones come in white and purple colors in Germany and are up for pre-orders through Oppo’s website.
