Rockstar Games has officially opened pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI, confirming the pricing structure and available editions for the highly anticipated title. The announcement provides clarity for consumers following months of industry speculation regarding the game’s retail cost.
Available Editions and Pricing
The game will launch with two primary versions available for purchase:
- Standard Edition: Priced at $79.99, offering the base game experience.
- Ultimate Edition: Priced at $99.99, this version includes bonus content such as exclusive premium vehicles, weapons, clothing, and story-integrated items centered around the dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia.
Distribution and Launch Logistics
Pre-orders have been initiated across major digital storefronts, including the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, alongside select physical retail outlets.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for official release on November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. To mitigate potential server congestion on launch day, digital pre-order customers will gain access to pre-load the game files starting November 12, 2026.
Physical copies will also become available at retail locations on November 12, 2026. However, in alignment with a broader industry shift toward digital distribution for large-scale software, physical retail boxes will contain digital download codes rather than traditional optical discs.
Pre-Order Incentives
The final pricing strategy aligns with previous analytical predictions, which suggested a premium price point to offset the extensive development costs and scale of the project. To incentivize early purchases, Rockstar Games is bundling additional items with pre-orders:
- All pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Digital pre-orders receive an additional bonus of a one-month subscription to the GTA+ service.
