Bitcoin Rally Sends Crypto Stocks Soaring as Miners and Treasury Firms Jump

Bitcoin’s rally above $79,000 has triggered a sharp rise in publicly traded crypto companies, with Bitcoin miners, digital asset treasury firms, exchanges and brokerage platforms posting strong gains.

Crypto-related stocks rallied toward the end of the week as Bitcoin extended its recovery and broader risk appetite improved following moves by the US Treasury aimed at supporting liquidity in the Treasury market.

Bitcoin miner Canaan led the gains among crypto-related stocks on Friday, rising more than 25%.

MARA Holdings also moved higher after gaining nearly 16% during Thursday’s session.

Digital asset treasury company Strive, which holds more than 20,000 Bitcoin on its balance sheet, jumped more than 16% on Friday.

Japan-listed Metaplanet also gained more than 16% after expanding its Bitcoin treasury strategy through the acquisition of Nasdaq-listed Super League Enterprise.

Shares of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and brokerage platform Robinhood also recorded double-digit gains, highlighting how Bitcoin’s recovery is benefiting companies with direct exposure to digital assets.

Bitcoin rose more than 23% over the week and briefly crossed the $79,000 level on Friday, according to CoinMarketCap data.

Ether also recorded strong gains, rising nearly 30% over the same period and climbing above $2,400.

The sharp increase in major cryptocurrencies has helped lift investor sentiment across the broader digital asset market and increased demand for publicly traded companies linked to crypto.

The crypto stock rally also came as the US Treasury announced plans to double certain long-dated bond buybacks.

The move is aimed at improving liquidity in the Treasury market and contributed to stronger risk appetite across financial markets.

The improved market environment provided an additional boost to crypto-related equities as investors responded to Bitcoin’s rapid recovery.

Digital asset markets also received support from comments by US President Donald Trump, who renewed calls for Congress to advance the CLARITY Act.

The legislation remained stalled after lawmakers failed to move it forward before the August recess. If passed, the bill could establish a clearer regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States.

The proposed legislation would help define the respective oversight responsibilities of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Trump also renewed the possibility of the US government acquiring Bitcoin on a sizable scale following meetings with cryptocurrency industry leaders.

The combination of rising Bitcoin prices, improving liquidity conditions and potential regulatory developments has strengthened the outlook for publicly traded crypto companies and contributed to the latest surge in crypto-related stocks.
