Alienware’s new 39-inch 5K OLED Gaming Monitor is now available for $1,099, giving PC gamers and creators a large curved display built around a four-stack RGB OLED panel.
The Alienware 39 5K OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3926QW), first announced earlier this year, pairs a native 5K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate. Gamers looking for higher frame rates can switch to a 330Hz esports mode at Full HD resolution.
A New Four-Stack RGB OLED Panel
Alienware describes the AW3926QW as the world’s first 39-inch 5K RGB Stripe tandem OLED monitor.
Its four-stack RGB panel can reach up to 1,300 nits of peak HDR brightness, according to the company. The RGB Stripe pixel arrangement is designed to keep text sharp and reduce the color fringing that can appear around fine details on some OLED displays.
The monitor supports Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, giving it support for HDR games, video, and creative work that can take advantage of OLED’s deep black levels and high contrast.
Alienware backs the display with a three-year warranty covering OLED burn-in.
Built for Gaming at Two Very Different Speeds
At its native 5K resolution, the AW3926QW runs at up to 165Hz, a combination aimed at players who want high image detail without giving up a fast refresh rate.
Competitive players can trade resolution for speed by switching to the 330Hz Full HD esports mode. Alienware lists a 0.03ms response time and support for NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA AdaptiveSync.
That gives the monitor a fairly broad brief. It can serve as a high-resolution display for single-player games and creative applications, then switch gears for titles where frame rate matters more than pixel count.
A Large, Curved 5K Desktop
The 39-inch panel uses a 1500R curve, giving the AW3926QW a more pronounced wraparound shape than a typical flat desktop monitor.
Alienware has carried its newer AW30 design language into the display, including an ultra-thin profile and narrow bezels on all four sides. The size and curve make it a substantial desktop monitor, particularly for users who prefer one large screen rather than a multi-monitor setup.
The Alienware 39 5K OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3926QW) is available beginning August 27 for $1,099.
