Google is now showing “Sold last week” badges more frequently in Shopping ads. We spotted this last week, but it’s been appearing more often since then. Arpan Banerjee and Marcin Wsół both noticed this as well and shared their observations on LinkedIn.
Here is a screenshot of how it looks.
Arpan Banerjee wrote on LinkedIn:
“Google’s flexing ‘sold last week’ badges harder in shopping ads lately.”
Marcin Wsół wrote on LinkedIn:
“In Google Shopping ads, you can increasingly notice the information ‘sold last week,’ showing the approximate number of products sold in the previous week. For example, you might see a message next to your product that says ‘200+ sold last week.’ Such information acts as an additional element of social proof and can increase user trust and attractiveness of the offer.”
Showing badges like this in Shopping ads can help build trust of users, potentially making them more likely to click and convert into customers for that particular website.
Have you seen “Sold last week” badges appearing more often in your own Shopping ads?
