We all know the feeling of willing yourself to get out of your sleeping bag on a chilly morning. The Exped Dreamwalker suggests an interesting solution: What if you just … didn’t? At night, the Dreamwalker is a 40-degree sleeping bag that sits somewhere between a rectangular cut and a mummy, with a blunt footbox, center zip, and jacket-like 3D hood. Get up, however, and you can transform the Dreamwalker into a wearable poncho, with zippered arm holes and a drawstring-closure footbox. A system of internal toggles allow you to adjust the fit to three different lengths. (At 3 pounds 5 ounces for a regular and, more importantly, a packed volume of 27 liters, this sleep system is better suited for car and basecamping trips than backpacking.)
