Apple’s website listing its executives has had its biggest change in years, as John Ternus and Tim Cook both get new roles, but their biographies have been expanded and certain chiefs get new responsibilities.
The most obviously required change to the leadership page is the move of John Ternus up to the top spot, now that he is Apple’s CEO. Unsurprisingly, Tim Cook‘s job title has also changed, with him appearing as Executive Chair in the Board of Directors section at the bottom of the page.
But then that Board of Directors section has now added head shot photographs of all nine people involved. That also means that John Ternus gets a second photo.
Significantly, the number of executives listed has reduced by two. Tim Cook is no longer in that section, but now neither is Kate Adams, general counsel, whose retirement was announced in December 2025.
There’s been no replacement for Ternus’s previous position as senior vice president of hardware engineering.
Job descriptions
Ternus’s biography, though, has been doubled from around 100 words to around 200. The new version obviously leads with how he is now CEO, but it has added in more of his accomplishments during his time at Apple.
Tim Cook’s entry on the leadership page has seen an even more marked revision. He gets a new photograph, and his biography has grown from 190 words to 475.
Previously the biography was a succinct list of his responsibilities, chiefly since he became CEO in 2011. The new version promotes all of the products that were introduced during his tenure, and describes both services and Cook’s stance on privacy much more.
Minor changes
Every executive who was previously described as reporting to Tim Cook, is now of course listed as reporting to John Ternus. But there have been some other changes, ranging from rephrasing of biographical points, to new job responsibilities.
Jennifer Newstead’s job has expanded to include Government Affairs – image credit: Apple.
For instance, Phil Schiller‘s biography has been shortened as it removes references to his leading the App Store and Apple Events. That follows the news on August 31, 2026 that he was stepping back from that role.
Then Jennifer Newstead, who was senior vice president of general counsel, has now added government affairs to her title and has a minor biography change to reflect that.
That appears to be an actual change to her job description, while Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh’s new entry reads as if it’s just listing more of his existing responsibilities. For instance, it clarifies that his remit includes Corporate Services, ranging from real estate and Claris to Caffe Macs.
Then Deirdre O’Brien’s biography has been slightly reworded, with it saying she is a “35-year Apple veteran” instead of how she “joined in 1988.” Similarly, Johny Srouji‘s entry has slightly expanded to include references to his role in developing Apple Silicon.
