Record Growth With More Months to Grow: Canadian Drone Manufacturer AVSS Surpasses 2,000 Systems Manufactured Year-to-Date, Reinforcing Canada’s Global Leadership in Drone Technology
Fredericton, New Brunswick – AVSS – Aerial Vehicle Safety Solutions Inc. (AVSS), a Canadian aerospace company specializing in drone technologies, today announced it has manufactured more than 2,000 Canadian-made drone components and solutions year-to-date, already surpassing the company’s production in the previous fiscal year. The record-setting milestone reflects accelerating global demand for Canadian-designed drone technologies and reinforces Canada’s growing leadership in advanced drone manufacturing.
While AVSS has delivered thousands of Canadian-manufactured drone systems since introducing its first drone products to the market in 2020, this fiscal year has become the company’s strongest production year on record and AVSS expects continued growth, demonstrating the continued expansion of Canadian aerospace innovation into international markets.
AVSS has designed, engineered, and manufactured all its products in Canada since the company’s founding. Today, AVSS is the largest Canadian exporter of drone components and solutions, with approximately 75% of its commercial revenue this fiscal year-to-date generated from international markets and products operating in more than 20 countries.
At a time when much of the global drone industry depends on outsourced manufacturing or licensing foreign technologies, AVSS has continually chosen to invest in Canadian innovation by keeping product development, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance in Canada while exporting Canadian technology to customers around the world. While off-the-shelf assembly and licensing agreements can create short-term opportunities, sustainable economic growth comes from owning and continually advancing the underlying intellectual property. In an industry evolving as rapidly as drones, innovation, not assembly, is what creates lasting competitive advantages, highly skilled jobs, and long-term economic value.
“Manufacturing more than 2,000 systems year-to-date is an exciting milestone, but what it really represents is the exceptional work of our growing manufacturing team. Their ability to scale production while maintaining quality has positioned AVSS for repeatable growth as we continue delivering new components and solutions to our network of more than 70 distributors worldwide,” said Josh Ogden, CEO of AVSS. “We’ve already exceeded the production of every previous fiscal year while continuing to design, engineer, and manufacture a diverse product portfolio here in Canada. We’ve proven that an owned and controlled Canadian company can develop world-leading drone technologies, compete globally, and export Canadian innovation to customers around the world.”
Originally recognized as a global leader in ASTM F3322 drone safety technologies, AVSS has continued to diversify its hardware and software portfolio through sustained investment in Canadian research and development. In addition to its industry-leading parachute recovery systems, the company now designs, manufactures, and supplies drone motors, electronic speed controllers (ESCs), FPV cameras, cold-weather ground control stations, guided aerial resupply systems, air-launched effects, and avalanche mitigation solutions for commercial and government customers.
The record production year reflects increasing international demand for Canadian-built drone technology and highlights the growing role Canadian manufacturers can play in the global aerospace industry.
“As the drone industry continues to mature, customers are looking for proven technologies backed by rigorous engineering, manufacturing excellence, and regulatory compliance,” added Ogden. “Our commitment is to build those technologies in Canada, protect Canadian intellectual property, and deliver Canadian innovation to customers worldwide.”
With products operating across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and other international markets, AVSS continues to expand its global footprint while remaining committed to expanding its Canadian manufacturing capacity, research and development investment, and the creation of highly skilled Canadian jobs.
Manufacturing more than 2,000 systems year-to-date reflects the continued global adoption of Canadian-developed drone technology and demonstrates that Canadian aerospace innovation can compete and thrive on the world stage.
About AVSS: AVSS is a Canadian aerospace technology company that designs, engineers, and manufactures advanced drone components, safety systems, and integrated solutions. Since its founding in 2017, AVSS has developed and manufactured all of its products in Canada while building a globally recognized portfolio of Canadian intellectual property.
