Entire Galaxy S27 Series Could Get Samsung’s Privacy Display Feature

TL; DR
  • Samsung is reportedly bringing Privacy Display to the entire Galaxy S27 lineup.
  • The feature was previously limited to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
  • The S27 series is expected to use a second-generation version of the technology.

Samsung could be making one of its more premium display features available across the entire Galaxy S27 lineup. According to a recent report from TheElec, every Galaxy S27 model is expected to feature Privacy Display, instead of limiting it to the top-end Ultra model like last year.

If the report is accurate, the feature will be available on the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra, with Samsung reportedly using a second-generation version of the technology.

Privacy Display is a hardware-level privacy feature built into the display itself. When turned on, it narrows the viewing angle so that the screen remains clear to the person holding the phone while appearing much darker from the sides.

Samsung first introduced Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and expanding it to the rest of the lineup would make it one of the standout features shared across every S27 flagship.

Like the first-generation implementation, the new version is expected to come with a few trade-offs. Enabling Privacy Display could slightly reduce peak brightness and affect color accuracy, although Samsung is expected to improve both areas with the second-generation panel.

As always, these details are based on early industry reports, so more information about Samsung’s second-generation Privacy Display should surface closer to the Galaxy S27 series launch.
