Facebook is set for its biggest overhaul yet, as parent company Meta prepares to replace the platforms familiar layout with a full-screen, video-first feed resembling TikTok.
Meta is testing a new feature called Reimagine Experience, which will change how users interact with Facebook from the moment they open the app.
Under the new design, users will be greeted with a full-screen video feed rather than the traditional mixed-content layout the platform has used for years.
The company said the shift reflects what users actually want, noting that video content is now the most preferred format among its audience.
A Meta spokesperson stated that alongside developing new tools, the company aims to offer an experience that combines entertainment with connections to credible creators.
Users who prefer the existing format will not be forced to abandon it entirely. The classic Facebook feed will remain accessible through a secondary tab in the apps navigation menu, allowing people to switch back if they do not take to the new interface.
The video-first feed will initially roll out in a limited number of countries this year, with Meta prioritizing markets where users show strong engagement with video content.
Notably, the full-screen video format was pioneered by TikTok, whose app opens directly into a similar video feed. Meta appears to be steering Facebook toward the same model.
The company has not yet released any images or previews of the redesigned interface.
