Gemini. It took time, but nowadays, Gemini stands as one of the most relevant AI agents in the market. It can do a lot of things, and certainly is the option of choice for many people relying on its assistance.
Gemini is the natural evolution for Google Assistant, and honestly, it is miles ahead of what Assistant was. Now, Google has
basically confirmed the shutdown of its former assistant for September 4. Despite the date, its demise will happen gradually across the world.

This shutdown will take effect on Android, WearOS, and vehicles that are running Android Auto. On cars with Google built-in, the Google Assistant will continue to function even after September 4. Perhaps there is still no alternative in these cases, and ditching Assistant from these devices may affect the experience for its users. Assistant will also remain alive on Google TV and Google Home speakers and smart monitors.

We believe that this is happening for devices that aren’t ready to support
Gemini. However, the future probably will bring the advanced AI tech to them.
As per Google, it is committed to “providing a smooth transition”. Moreover, it believes that “Gemini will offer an even more capable and helpful assistant experience”.
We have no doubts that Gemini is a much better choice, but for some devices, the full transition should be a few months or even years away. As a result, this isn’t the true end of Assistant.
