In “System Settings > Spotlight > Results from Apps,” there is a toggle entry for an application that I have already uninstalled. While this is purely cosmetic, I would like to remove this entry.
I have already attempted several troubleshooting steps without success. I used Spotlight and FindAnyFile to look for leftover application files, but found none. I also ran grep to locate .plist files referencing the app, finding entries in com.apple.Spotlight.plist and com.apple.corespotlightui.plist. I then booted into Recovery Mode and manually removed the references from those files. Despite these efforts, the entries persist in System Settings after a reboot.
Has anyone found where macOS 26 stores the list for "Results from Apps" or a way to force a refresh of this list?
