Google Ads is testing a new Enhanced Matching option for Customer Match.
Based on the screenshot shared by Joey Bidner on LinkedIn, this test can expand matches using connected user lists.
He shared a screenshot on LinkedIn and wrote:
“anybody else using this? seeing it for the first time in my account settings and still trying to wrap my head around what it really is. some documentation states is supposed to help with match rates on customer lists (which is something im focusing more on these days), so its sort of disguised in that BUT it also says its “expanding” your matches, whenever Google Ads says “expand” anything I’m hesitant haha.
Thoughts? Experiance? ideas?”
Bidner reaction reflects a common concern advertisers have whenever Google introduces a setting framed around “expanding” reach it’s not always clear what trade-offs come with that expansion, especially when it involves matching audience data with additional connected user lists.
