Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (PSX) has started production from the Bobi Deep-1 well in District Sanghar, Sindh. The development follows an oil discovery at the Massive Sand of the Lower Goru Formation, which the company announced on June 3, 2026.
The Bobi Deep-1 well is currently producing 2,000 Barrels of Oil Per Day (BOPD). The company expects the new output to strengthen Pakistan’s domestic oil supply.
To begin commercial production quickly, OGDC laid a 4-inch, 1.5 km flowline from the well site to the Bobi Plant. As a result, the company was able to start early production from the newly discovered oil field.
OGDC operates the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Leases and holds a 100% working interest in both assets. Therefore, the company has full ownership and operational control over the project.
According to OGDC, production from the Bobi Deep-1 well will help meet local energy demand. It also aims to reduce the country’s reliance on imported oil. The company shared the update through a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
