The federal capital witnessed a massive spike in criminal activities over the past week leading up to July 12, 2026. Police recorded more than 45 crime incidents across Islamabad. Furthermore, citizens lost valuables worth millions of rupees. The authorities documented widespread car thefts, brutal murders, and violent robberies.

During this period, several criminal gangs remained highly active. Consequently, specific police jurisdictions reported higher crime rates. These hotspot areas include Karachi Company, Khanna, Sumbal, Margalla, and Sabzi Mandi.
For instance, the Karachi Company Police Station registered three vehicle thefts, one street crime, and one robbery. Meanwhile, the Khanna Police Station recorded two robberies, two street crime incidents, and one vehicle theft.
Criminals also resorted to extreme violence. In one shocking incident, unidentified armed robbers attacked two security guards. This occurred within the limits of the Shahzad Town Police Station. The assailants arrived on a motorcycle. They quickly snatched cash and mobile phones from the guards. However, one security guard offered resistance. As a result, the robbers opened fire. They critically injured the guard before escaping the scene.
Similarly, a taxi driver faced a brutal attack within the Sabzi Mandi Police Station jurisdiction. Shah Maqbool picked up two young men, estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, from Aabpara. They initially asked him to drive to Faizabad. Later, the suspects redirected him to Mandi Mor. When they reached near the CDA Kacha Stop in Sector I-10, they instructed Maqbool to make a U-turn.
Suddenly, the suspects held the driver at gunpoint. They snatched his mobile phone and Rs. 15,000 in cash. When Maqbool resisted the robbery, the attackers ruthlessly stabbed him with knives. Consequently, they left the driver seriously injured.
