Poco M8 Power Is Official — Two Variants, Sales From August 7


Poco has made it official. The M8 Power is here, and the pricing is a bit higher than pre-launch leaks suggested. The Poco M8 Power starts at ₹24,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant. The 8GB/128GB model costs ₹27,999. Sales kick off August 7, exclusively through Flipkart. Poco is also throwing in bank offers worth ₹3,000 to sweeten the deal. 

That’s a step up from the ₹22,999 figure that leaked before launch. Not a huge gap — but worth noting if you were budgeting around that lower number.

The Battery Is the Headline

Eight thousand milliamp-hours. Poco claims the M8 Power delivers up to three days of power on a single charge. That’s ambitious. Real-world results will depend heavily on usage. But even at half that claim, you’re looking at very comfortable battery life.

Despite housing all that capacity, the phone comes in at just over 8.4mm thick and weighs around 220 grams. For an 8,000mAh device, that’s genuinely slim. Poco has done solid engineering work here. 

The Poco M8 Power launches in India at ₹24,999 for 6GB/128GB and ₹27,999 for 8GB/128GB, with sales beginning August 7 on Flipkart — featuring a 6.9-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, 8,000mAh battery with 45W charging, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, and an 8.4mm-thin body weighing 220 grams.

The Display Holds Up Too

Up front is a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel running at 120Hz, with peak brightness hitting 1,800 nits and 960Hz PWM dimming to ease eye strain in low light. FHD+ resolution on a 6.9-inch screen is the right call. Text looks sharp. Video looks good. No compromises where it counts.

Chip and Software

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 handles processing duties. It’s not a powerhouse chip — don’t expect it to run demanding games without breaking a sweat. For everyday use, streaming, and social media though, it’s more than adequate. Software is Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

One Thing Worth Mentioning

The Poco M8 Power is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 5G from China, though Poco may have made some changes for the Indian variant. That’s not unusual for Poco — it’s been doing this for years. The hardware is solid regardless of the badge. 

The M8 Power makes a straightforward case for itself. Big battery, bright AMOLED screen, and a thin build. If that’s your priority list, it’s worth a look.
