I often reminisce about a time when subscribing to all my favorite streaming services didn’t cost me an absolute fortune each month. But with streaming prices continuing to rise in recent years, those days are gone. Take Netflix, for example. Back in 2016, an ad-free 4K subscription cost just $12 a month. A decade later, it now costs $27 a month, a staggering 125 percent increase.
And Netflix isn’t alone. In just the last year, streaming services such as HBO Max, Disney+, Peacock, Apple TV, and YouTube Premium have all raised their prices. As a result, many users, myself included, have started cutting back on their monthly streaming bills by canceling some subscriptions. One alternative I’ve really come to enjoy is free, ad-supported streaming services like The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, and Tubi.
The Roku Channel, in particular, has become one of my favorites, mainly because of its sheer volume of content and how easy it is to access on my Roku Ultra. Its library is packed with thousands of free on-demand movies and TV shows, and it’s also home to hundreds of free live TV channels, a lineup Roku continues to expand month after month.
In just the last few months alone, Roku has added more than 70 new free channels. And now, it’s at it again, adding six brand-new channels that you can watch live, completely free.
Roku’s free channel lineup keeps growing
The Roku Channel offers over 500 free live TV channels
In addition to the four new channels Roku added earlier this month and the more than 500 channels it already offers, Roku has now added six more free channels available through The Roku Channel’s Live TV Guide (via Cord Cutter News).
Highlights include AMP, a channel dedicated to music videos and live performances; CW Pwede WWE, which features content from The CW’s partnership with WWE, including event highlights and analysis; and Danny Duncan TV, featuring content from YouTuber Danny Duncan, best known for his pranks and stunts.
Here are all six of the new channels Roku just added:

To find any of these new channels in Roku’s Live TV Guide, simply press the Star (*) button on your remote and select the “Jump to Channel” option from the pop-up menu. From there, you can enter the corresponding channel number to quickly find the channel you’re looking for.
Alternatively, Roku’s Live TV Guide has a built-in search function that lets you search for channels by name or genre. If you want to see whether one of your favorite shows is available, I’ve found this is the quickest and easiest way to find out. The search option is located on the left side of the Live TV Guide, alongside categories like Entertainment, Sports, and Classic TV.
Beyond the six new channels Roku has just added, the platform has rolled out tons of other exciting channels this year, including History Untold, All Out Alaska, Westerns, Inspector Gadget, National Geographic History, and Murdoch Mysteries. And if you’re looking for even more free live TV, apps like Pluto TV, Plex, and Tubi also offer hundreds of channels to explore.
