Summer is here and the temperatures are rising in the Rocky Mountains. To keep cool while staying protected from the sun is a challenge. However, Stio has the answer with its new Bounder Apparel including the Pullover and Short. I have been testing this gear throughout the early spring, on hikes, runs, and spring break travel, and I have found the lightweight Bounder apparel a great option for active pursuits in warm sunny weather.

Stio’s new Bounder line of apparel is made with a supremely lightweight, stretchy fabric that dries quickly. The fabric is a Primeflex Ripstop, 30 denier Microfiber Mechanical Stretch Ripstop, 100% Polyester, 60 g/m2 with a PFAS free DWR finish. The fabric has a softer feel and is very comfortable against your skin.

Stio’s Bounder Pullover has a flattering cropped design that hits right at the hips. With a more boxy fit, there is room for layering over clothing. The structured collar stays upright, providing further sun and wind protection. The Bounder Pullover features a half zip, center front YKK zipper, zippered kangaroo pockets, and an adjustable cinch hem.

Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover Style and Fit
The Bounder Pullover comes in three colors and five sizes, XS through XL. I chose the size small and color bold bloom, which is a bright pink color with a contrasting yellow front zipper. The fit is a perfect loose fit to allow for layering and the sleeve length is generous, which is perfect for my longer arms. I like the boxy, cropped fit, which is more flattering and modern looking.

Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover Performance
Stio hit the mark with the fabric of the Bounder Pullover. It is soft, and extremely lightweight and breezy. It provides wind and sun protection, but is light enough to handle hot and humid conditions. I was able to wear the Bounder Pullover as a sun protecting layer when traveling to Puerto Rico and spending time at the beach. It was an easy layer to throw over my swimsuit, and it dried quickly, keeping me comfortable all day long. The Bounder Pullover has also been great for hiking in Colorado, and easily transitions to a stylish layer around town. I love the vibrant pink color, which stands out in a crowd.

Stio’s Bounder apparel line also includes the Bounder Short, which is an easy pull-on short with a wide elastic waistband. Again, in the lightweight, water resistant, and quick drying material, the Bounder Short is perfect for active pursuits including hiking, running, or over days on the water. The Bounder Short features a brief-style knit liner, which keeps the shorts in place when active. The Bounder Short has two hand pockets and one vertical zippered pocket to keep valuables stashed.

Stio’s Bounder Short comes in six colors and six sizes XS through XXL with two inseam lengths, 3 inch and 5 inch. I chose the color Boundless, which is a deep teal green color and the size XS in a 5 inch length. The fit was perfect for me in the waist and the shorts have a looser fit through the leg to allow for a large range of motion. The wide elastic waistband has an internal adjustable drawstring in a contrasting orange color to cinch the shorts tighter if necessary. The internal brief liner has a somewhat looser comfortable fit.

Stio Women’s Bounder Short Performance
The Bounder Short is a comfortable pull-on short for any active pursuits. The water resistant, quick drying fabric allows for a comfortable all-day wear even when sweat or moisture happens. When wearing the Bounder Short on tropical humid days at the beach in Puerto Rico, I found I could wear these shorts into the ocean and have them dry quickly enough to wear them the rest of the day. The stretchy, lightweight and breezy feel of the fabric is comfortable for long hikes and trail runs, and the inner liner helps keep the shorts in place.
