Aaronia AG looks back on a successful MSPO 2026. At the center of the company’s trade show presence was the AARTOS™ HAWK T1, presented both as an airborne payload and in a stationary configuration. Expert discussions focused on operational use cases and integration into existing AARTOS systems.
The defense trade show in Kielce took place from September 8 to 11 and, according to the organizer, brought together 1,209 companies from 43 countries.
Passive Radio Direction Finding from the Air and on the Ground
First introduced at Eurosatory 2026, the AARTOS™ HAWK T1 serves as a payload on suitable airborne platforms, adding aerial reception positions that complement ground-based coverage. This can be particularly advantageous in terrain with line-of-sight obstructions – a point raised repeatedly in Kielce: precisely where sightlines are blocked at ground level, the AARTOS™ HAWK T1 provides the additional perspective needed for a complete situational picture. The stationary configuration serves continuous monitoring from the ground.
The AARTOS™ HAWK T1 locates radio sources using Blind TDoA. This method evaluates the differing arrival times of a signal at multiple sensor locations. It can also locate sources of unknown or encrypted radio signals without decrypting their communication content. In this way, the system complements drone detection with the localization of relevant radio transmitters.
Integration and Feedback from the Field
The shared RTSA-Suite PRO software allows the AARTOS™ HAWK T1 to be integrated into existing AARTOS architectures. In Kielce, Aaronia focused in particular on its interplay with the AARTOS™ X9. The payload is delivered pre-configured in a rugged transport case, allowing flexible, short-notice deployment wherever it is needed, without extensive on-site installation. This is a factor a permanently installed solution alone cannot offer – particularly in military contexts, where threat priorities can shift at short notice.
