The first problem with finding a good GEO conference is deciding what the field is actually called, believe it or not.
Some organizers use generative engine optimization. Others prefer answer engine optimization, AI search, LLM SEO or AI visibility. The terms overlap, the definitions move around, and a few events appear to choose whichever acronym looks best on the ticket page that month.
Search demand gives us a clearer editorial answer. Public US snapshots show roughly 7,900 monthly searches for “generative engine optimization” compared with about 2,400 for “answer engine optimization.” The apparently larger volume attached to the bare acronym “AEO” is misleading: much of it belongs to American Eagle Outfitters and the Authorized Economic Operator customs programme, not search marketing.
That is why we are calling this our guide to the best GEO conferences, while still including serious AEO and AI-search events.
We checked the remaining 2026 calendar and every credible 2027 announcement we could find. We verified dates, prices, formats, access rules and published programmes against organizer pages. We also separated dedicated AI-search events from broader SEO and marketing conferences that happen to contain one GEO session.
If your interests extend beyond AI search, our separate guide to the best SEO conferences in 2026 and 2027 covers the wider calendar, including technical SEO, local search, publishing, ecommerce and international events.
The short answer: the best GEO conference depends on the job
There is no honest universal winner. A global brand operationalizing AI-search measurement needs a different room from a technical writer restructuring a documentation estate. Start here.
| What you need | Best starting point | Why it stands out |
|---|---|---|
| The purest US GEO programme | GEO Conference | Two small, in-person working sessions devoted to visibility in AI answers |
| Enterprise AEO operations | C3 2026 | A detailed agenda about maturity, prompt indices, crawlers and moving from experiments to operating systems |
| A small English-language operator room in Europe | Masters of Search | 175 curated seats, public session detail and workshops built around current AI-search experiments |
| German-speaking in-house teams | GEO KNOW HOW | A dedicated German-language GEO day with optional workshops |
| French-speaking search and acquisition teams | SEO & GEO Summit | Two days at Disneyland Paris, with GEO placed inside a wider acquisition programme |
| A UK specialist day | GEO Elite | A 120-seat London event with a genuinely relevant topic list, although parts of the site still need verification |
| A free global option | AI SEO & GEO Online Summit | Two hours online, five speakers, live Q&A and recordings, with no travel risk |
| Documentation and knowledge teams | ConVEx IDEAS | A three-day online programme that puts AEO and SEO in the context of information development |
| Asia-Pacific AI-search networking | Zero Click Sydney or Singapore | Free, curated, in-person events built around AI-search research and practitioners |
The strongest agenda on paper is not automatically the best purchase. GEO Conference has the cleanest specialist proposition in the US, but it costs $900 before travel and has no recordings.
The free online summit is much smaller, but its cost-adjusted value is difficult to argue with. Masters of Search may offer the best European operator density, but admission is curated.

ConVEx IDEAS
September 22–24, 2026 | Online | Registration tiers vary
ConVEx IDEAS is the unusual entry in this list, and that is its strength. The Center for Information-Development Management is not staging a generic marketing summit. Its audience works on technical documentation, knowledge systems and structured information, and the 2026 theme explicitly pairs answer engine optimization with SEO.
That makes it relevant to a problem most marketing-led GEO agendas only touch in passing: how a large body of product, support or technical knowledge becomes retrievable, interpretable and useful to answer systems. If your organization owns thousands of help articles, manuals or developer pages, the documentation team may have more influence over AI answers than the social team, even if nobody has put “GEO” in its job titles yet.
The format is online across three days. The organizer’s public event listing exposed a very wide registration range when checked, so we have not reduced that to a misleading “from” price. Check the tier and inclusions directly.
Best for: technical writers, content-operations leads, knowledge managers and documentation-heavy software or manufacturing businesses.
Skip it if: your main goal is brand marketing, digital PR or a room full of acquisition leaders.
Question to ask before registering: how much of the final agenda is about retrieval and answer visibility, and how much assumes prior information-architecture knowledge?
GEO KNOW HOW
October 1, 2026 | Berlin | German | €499 + VAT in-house; €899 + VAT agencies
GEO KNOW HOW is a dedicated German-language conference organized by Claneo. The main event runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Am Flutgraben 2 in Berlin, with separate workshop options on September 30 and October 2.
The ticket structure tells you who the organizer wants in the room. Brands and in-house attendees pay €499 plus VAT; agencies and service providers pay €899 plus VAT. A conference-and-workshop package for brands and in-house teams was €1,499 plus VAT when checked. That is not a beginner price, and the language requirement narrows the audience further. For a German-speaking company building its first formal AI-search programme, however, that concentration may be more valuable than a larger English-language event where GEO competes with six other tracks.
The event positions itself as Germany’s first conference for generative engine optimization and focuses on visibility and citations across systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Treat the word “first” as organizer positioning, not a quality score. The better signal is whether the final sessions show methods, samples, failure cases and measurement limitations rather than renamed SEO checklists.
Best for: German-speaking heads of search, content and digital visibility, especially in-house.
Skip it if: you need an English programme, a low-cost introduction or broad paid-search coverage.
Budget note: compare the €1,499 workshop package with sending two people to the main conference. The better choice depends on whether you need hands-on design or cross-functional adoption.
AI SEO & GEO Online Summit
October 7, 2026 | Online | 9–11 a.m. Mountain Time | Free
The AI SEO & GEO Online Summit is only two hours long, so it should not be compared with a two-day conference. It is nevertheless the lowest-risk way into the category: free registration, live YouTube delivery, five speakers, Q&A and recordings.
The announced programme has more specificity than many paid events. It includes a session drawing on SE Ranking research, a local-AEO presentation based on Duda’s study of more than 850,000 small-business sites, and sessions on turning content strategy into a repeatable operating system. The host also runs an AI SEO service and platform, so expect some agency context even though the page promises education rather than an end-of-session pitch.
This is a useful test before asking an employer to fund a larger event. Watch with a live project open. If the sessions change the prompt set, measurement design or content system you are building, you have evidence that a deeper specialist conference may be worth the spend.
Best for: global teams, freelancers, small businesses and anyone who wants an evidence-oriented introduction without travel.
Skip it if: networking is the main value you want or you need a full-day technical workshop.
Best use of the recording: assign each session to the person who owns that system, then reconvene for one hour to decide what is testable. “Everybody watch this when you have time” is where free conference value goes to die.
SEO & GEO Summit France
October 15–16, 2026 | Disneyland Paris | French | From €200 excl. VAT when checked
The SEO & GEO Summit calls itself France’s largest SEO and GEO event and moves to the convention centre at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel for 2026. It has also widened beyond search into SEA, social advertising, content, automation, CRM and acquisition.
That breadth is either the reason to go or the reason not to. A French digital director who needs search, paid media, content and AI discovery in one trip gets two days of cross-channel context. A specialist who wants every hour devoted to prompt sampling and citation measurement may find the programme too broad.
When checked, a one-day pass was €200 excluding VAT and a two-day pass €400 excluding VAT. The organizer’s published schedule showed those prices rising to €225 and €450 respectively from September 1, then €250 and €500 from October 1. The page’s formatting makes the sequence harder to parse than it should be, so confirm the amount shown at checkout.
The organizer has published many speakers and a substantial programme, but the event’s marketing language is exuberant. Judge individual sessions on whether they disclose data and implementation detail, not on promises of “secret” strategies.
Best for: French-speaking SEO, acquisition and digital leaders who want a large regional event.
Skip it if: you want a small English-language research room or a programme exclusively about generative discovery.
Travel decision: the venue makes this a destination event. Do not let the setting turn a one-day learning need into an expensive two-night trip unless the agenda and attendee mix justify it.
Zero Click World Tour: London, Sydney and Singapore
October 22, 27 and 29, 2026 | In person | Free by request
Profound’s Zero Click series is the most geographically useful AI-search circuit left in 2026: London on October 22, Sydney on October 27 and Singapore on October 29. Attendance is free, but it is not open in the ordinary “claim a ticket” sense. Space is limited and each person must request a place.
The promise is proprietary research, customers sharing real playbooks and networking with people working on AI search. The trade-off is product context. Profound sells enterprise AI-visibility software, and its customers and research naturally sit close to that worldview. Vendor ownership does not make the material useless; it means attendees should distinguish broadly applicable findings from conclusions that depend on a particular measurement platform.
These events are in-person only. The organizer says it will share recaps and recorded snippets, but there is no virtual ticket. Do not book non-refundable travel until the request is accepted.
Best for: in-house AI-search leaders and senior marketers in the UK or Asia-Pacific who can get admitted without building an entire trip around the event.
Skip it if: you need guaranteed entry, full recordings or vendor-neutral platform comparisons.
Question to take into the room: how does the research handle response volatility, personalization, geography, model version and prompt sampling? A dashboard can be precise and still measure an unrepresentative question set.
Masters of Search
October 22, 2026 | Berlin | English | €499 + VAT; application required
Masters of Search has one of the clearest programme pages in the category. It is a new, 175-seat, English-language event with six keynotes, four workshops, a panel and a live podcast. Published sessions include HubSpot’s operating model for AI search, Heyflow’s work turning the channel into pipeline, a “good, bad and ugly” AEO review and a query fan-out workshop.
That specificity earns attention. So does the admissions model: attendees apply, the organizer reviews the role and company, and accepted applicants receive a payment link. The event explicitly discourages agencies attending to prospect and people selling quick-fix GEO courses. No curation system is perfect, but it is at least an attempt to make the attendee mix part of the product.
Regular admission was €499 plus applicable VAT when checked; the €399 early allocation had sold out. A €999 VIP tier included a speaker dinner, premium gift and front-row seating. Most keynotes and the panel are due to be shared with attendees after the event, while workshops remain in-room only.
The caveat is simple: 2026 is the first edition. A strong agenda is evidence of preparation, not evidence of execution. There is no long attendee track record yet.
Best for: senior in-house search and growth operators, product-led companies, experimenters and researchers who want a compact English-language European room.
Skip it if: you need immediate guaranteed entry, a broad expo or a refundable ticket.
Closest decision: this runs on the same day as Zero Click London. Choose Masters of Search for a paid, full-day operator programme with workshops; choose Zero Click if London is easier, you can secure a place and you value enterprise networking over workshop depth.
C3 2026
October 28, 2026 | Convene One Liberty Plaza, New York City | $400 through August 31; $500 after
Conductor has repositioned C3 2026 around “agentic AEO” and winning AI search at scale. Unlike events whose programme stops at inspiration, the public agenda includes technical foundations for AI crawlers, an AEO maturity model, building a prompt index and moving AI-search intelligence into execution.
That makes C3 the clearest fit for an enterprise team trying to turn scattered tests into governance, tooling and repeatable work. It is also a Conductor event. Several announced speakers are company executives, and Conductor sells the platform around which much of that operating model is likely to be discussed. Go for a detailed view of one enterprise ecosystem, not a neutral comparison of every available product.
The one-day event is open to non-customers. The ticket was $400 per person through August 31 and is scheduled to become $500 from September 1 through September 28. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and a cocktail reception are included; onsite sales are not available.
Best for: enterprise SEO, content, digital and marketing-operations leaders who need to define ownership and scale.
Skip it if: you want an independent tools shootout, a small-business playbook or a purely technical research conference.
Team tactic: send one search lead and one content-operations or analytics lead. The interesting work at enterprise scale sits in the handoff between insight, production, approval and measurement.
GEO Elite
November 12, 2026 | London | From £215 | 120 places
GEO Elite is a focused London day at Wallacespace, 15 Artillery Lane. Its published topics cover the terminology problem, entities, Wikidata, prompt research, AI-search advertising, measurement and the organizational question of who should own GEO. Those are the right questions, and the named lineup includes recognizable UK and European search practitioners.
There is one material warning. When checked, the event site still contained obvious template remnants, including a placeholder phone number, generic speaker/company fields and sections marked “Coming Soon” or “TBA.” The date, address, ticket link and core agenda are present, but those leftovers lower confidence in any detail that is not also shown by the ticket provider or an individual speaker.
This does not mean the event is illegitimate. It means the page deserves the same scrutiny we would apply to a campaign landing page before spending travel money. Confirm the final speaker and session list, refund terms and ticket inclusions directly.
Best for: UK search, content and digital leaders who want a small specialist day without international travel.
Skip it if: unfinished event-page details make your procurement process uncomfortable or you need a long operating history.
SEW verdict: promising and highly relevant, but verify before booking. A conference guide is more useful when it says that out loud than when it quietly copies the organizer’s superlatives.
GEO Conference: New York and San Francisco
December 4 and 9, 2026 | In person only | $900 individual
GEO Conference has the purest specialist proposition in the US. Its New York edition runs at Quorum on December 4; San Francisco follows at Fort Mason Center on December 9. Each is capped at 150 seats and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The events are deliberately closed-room: no livestream, no recordings and no expo floor. The organizer says its three previous editions sold out. That makes the format attractive for candid discussion, but it also concentrates the risk. If the sessions miss your needs, there is no recording library to recover value later.
Individual admission was $900 when checked, scheduled to rise to $1,000 on September 1. Group pricing was $800 each for two or more and $750 each for three or more. The published refund policy offers a full refund until November 1, 50% until December 1 and none after that.
These are separate fourth and fifth editions following prior events in Austin, San Francisco and Washington, DC. They are not a single “final” 2026 conference, despite some older descriptions around the web.
Best for: US in-house search and brand leaders who want a dedicated room and can extract value through live relationships.
Skip it if: you need remote access, recordings, a low-cost ticket or extensive public detail before committing.
Which coast? Choose based on the companies and peers you need to meet, not the promise that one coast sits closer to “the labs.” The agenda and accepted attendee mix matter more than the airport.
Strong AI-search programmes inside broader 2026 conferences
The events below are relevant, but GEO is not their entire product. They belong here as alternatives, not as disguised specialist picks. For full profiles, ticket caveats and the rest of the calendar, see the 2026–2027 SEO conference guide.
| Date | Event | Why an AI-search team might go | Why it is not in the specialist calendar |
| Sept. 15–16 | BrightonSEO San Diego | Large multi-track programme and enough breadth for mixed search teams | GEO competes with content, analytics, paid search and many other topics |
| Sept. 29–Oct. 1 | SMX Advanced Europe | Advanced search programme with AI-search and technical context | It remains a broad SEO and PPC conference |
| Oct. 8–9 | BrightonSEO UK | Large search community, specialist talks and training options | The event is intentionally much wider than AI discovery |
| Oct. 12–13 | Ahrefs Evolve | Senior organic-growth audience and AI-visibility content | Premium broad search event organized by a software vendor |
| Oct. 13 | Semrush Spotlight | Optional AI-search bootcamp and a large marketing audience | Main conference covers marketing beyond search |
| Oct. 13–15 | NESS | Particularly useful for publishers dealing with AI answers and audience loss | Built for news and editorial SEO, not GEO alone |
| Oct. 16 | SERP Conf. Rome | SEO, ecommerce and AI programme with regional accessibility | Multi-discipline search and marketing event |
| Nov. 3–4 | SERP Conf. Vienna | Search, ecommerce and AI sessions in an international setting | GEO is one part of a broader programme |
| Nov. 5 | BRXND NYC | Explores how AI mediates brand preference and buying decisions | A marketing-and-AI conference, not an optimization event |
| Nov. 5–6 | Tech SEO Connect | Deep technical foundations that still determine retrieval and crawlability | Technical SEO is the product; AI search is context, not the whole agenda |
| Nov. 13 | MozCon London | Search strategy and AI visibility for a broad practitioner audience | General search marketing conference |
| Nov. 17–19 | AI for Marketers Summit | Virtual access and broader AI-marketing implementation | Discovery is only one part of a general AI agenda |
There is nothing wrong with a broad conference. In fact, it may be better for a mixed team. The problem begins when a guide presents an entire marketing expo and a 150-seat GEO workshop as interchangeable because both pages contain the letters “AI.”
Confirmed 2027 search events with meaningful AI-search relevance
These dates are more travel-ready, but they are not dedicated GEO conferences. They are useful fallbacks while the specialist calendar fills in.
| Date | Event | Location | Published AI-search relevance | Status |
| March 24–25 | SERP Conf. Sofia | Sofia, Bulgaria | AI Lab plus panels on SEO, ecommerce and AI | Confirmed |
| April 5–7 | SMX Munich | Munich, Germany | Workshops April 5; conference April 6–7; organizer leads with GEO, SEO and PPC | Confirmed |
| April 21 | AI in Marketing Conference | Zurich, Switzerland | AI in marketing, with discovery and visibility relevant to broader teams | Confirmed, broad |
| April 22 | Tech SEO Summit | Hamburg, Germany | Advanced crawl, rendering and technical systems that underpin retrieval | Confirmed, technical |
SERP Conf. Sofia is the clearest early, lower-cost option. The organizer lists an AI Lab on March 24 and the main conference on March 25, with published panels covering SEO in the age of AI. Tickets were shown from €99 when checked, while a combined AI Lab option started higher.
SMX Munich is the strongest broad 2027 search option already on sale. Workshops run April 5 and the conference April 6–7 at the International Congress Center Munich. The organizer’s 2027 positioning explicitly puts GEO beside SEO and PPC, and announced workshops include AI-first SEO, agent readiness and technical SEO in an AI world.
The AI in Marketing Conference runs April 21 at The Circle, Zurich Airport. It is a German-language, cross-functional AI-marketing day rather than a GEO specialist event. It belongs on the shortlist for marketing leaders whose AI-discovery work sits inside a wider adoption programme.
Tech SEO Summit follows in Hamburg on April 22. Its €949 excluding VAT price and attendee-fit rules make it a senior technical event. Do not buy it expecting a day of prompt tracking. Buy it if crawlability, rendering, site architecture and technical governance are the part of AI retrieval your team actually owns.
My schedule for the rest of 2026 and for 2027 is not yet finalized. As I work toward restoring SearchEngineWatch to its former glory, I’m eager to reconnect with the SEO community. Please feel free to reach out if you’re nearby.
