If you’re anything like my husband, you lose your earbuds (often). Recently, he thought he had permanently lost his Google Pixel 2a earbuds after searching the entire house, but then he found them in his jeans pocket while transferring his wet laundry into the dryer.

I was already adding a new pair of earbuds to our Amazon cart when he told me that, miraculously, they were still working, as if they hadn’t just swirled around in soap and water for the past hour. A week later, and they still work as good as new.
Needless to say, I’ve been impressed by the durability of the Google Pixel 2a earbuds. If you’re looking for earbuds that can withstand some accidents, these earbuds are 15% off at Best Buy ahead of Labor Day weekend (this deal only applies to the Berry color).
Google Pixel 2a earbuds for $110 (save $19)
These are Google’s midrange earbuds, so they won’t provide as good a sound as the Pixel Buds Pro 2, but they do promise 27 hours of total listening time, which is more than the Apple AirPods 4.
As far as the Pixel 2a earbuds’ sound goes, ZDNET audio reviewer Jada Jones said the noise cancellation works well, thanks to their snug fit.
Review: Not enough people are talking about the Google Pixel Buds’ best feature – especially Android fans
“In the audio department, the Buds 2a don’t do anything particularly spectacular or particularly terrible — their audio, noise cancellation, and transparency mode abilities are perfectly middle-of-the-line,” she wrote in her review, adding, “Aside from the audible noise floor when active noise cancellation (ANC) is enabled, the Buds 2a do a fine job at muffling exterior noises.”
And going back to their impressive durability, they are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, which my husband accidentally put to the test. And while I definitely do not recommend washing your earbuds in the washing machine on purpose, Jones said this rating is good for sweating at the gym or wearing them in the rain.
If you’re an Android user who doesn’t want to pay a lot for earbuds, the Google Pixel 2a earbuds are a durable option that excels in their software compatibility with an extensive range of Android devices. Snag them for $19 off at Best Buy while you can over Labor Day weekend.
How I rated this deal
According to ZDNET’s deal-rating system, this 15% off deal should be a 2/5 rating, but I rated it 3/5 due to the earbuds’ unique circumstances of showing off their durability first-hand.
