ZDNET’s key takeaways

- Several other apps give free prints if you pay shipping.
According to a recent study, 70% of the photos in your camera roll are forgotten and never looked at again. As I said last week about sorting through the 22,000 pictures in my Google Photos account, I want to make sure my photos don’t get lost in the digital ether when I’m gone, and that my kids can have the same memories I do about flipping through old family pictures.

ZDNET compiled the best photo printing services last year, and the names on that list still hold true if you’re focusing on quality. But if you’re just looking to print photos so your family will have memories to hold on to later, there are more affordable options.
Your best options for photo printing
Here’s a look at the best way to take your photos from digital to print:
Free prints every month from Walmart+: If you’re a Walmart+ subscriber, you get 25 free prints per month, totaling 300 free prints per year. You can choose same-day in-store pickup or have your photos delivered, and there’s no extra charge either way. To claim your photos, order 4×6 photos from your Photo Center in the Walmart app (located under the services tab). Go to the Walmart+ benefits page and use your barcode before you checkout.
Walgreens and CVS deals: Walgreens and CVS both charge about 30 cents a piece for photos, usually, but they run promotions very frequently where you can get up to 50% off. During these sales, you can usually catch photos for about 15 cents each. The two retailers will sometimes have deals where you can get a small batch of free photos, so be on the lookout for that, too. The best way to find these deals is to just consistently check the photo center pages for CVS and Walgreens.
