Introduction
Today, we are looking at the Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G – yes, the same phone that launched 7 months ago. Somehow this review managed to spend the last five months hiding in our drafts folder. We’ve finally tracked it down, dusted it off, and it’s time to right that wrong. Turns out reviews don’t have expiration dates. Better late than never.
To make the distinction, we are looking specifically at the 4G version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro, which should not be confused with the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. Although the two look somewhat similar and share a few specs, they belong to entirely different market segments.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G clearly sits a step below its 5G sibling in almost every hardware way. As the name suggests, it is a 4G-only device and one equipped with a rather meager MediaTek Helio G200 Ultra chipset – probably the weakest link in the spec sheet.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G also comes with some notable downgrades in durability compared to the 5G version. Not that IP65 certification is bad or anything, but the phone just isn’t quite as tough as its sibling.
Other than that, Xiaomi mostly made sure to achieve spec parity, or come close to that, for most other aspects of the 4G model. The display, while not a direct match, is still a 12-bit AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. You do have to live with a slightly smaller diagonal, lower resolution and the lack of HDR support, though.
The batteries on the two phones are practically identical, and it is great to see that the lower-end 4G model also gets a Si/C pack, as well as the same 45W fast charging. The camera setup also looks very similar across the pair, at least on paper. There is the important and unfortunate caveat here that video capture is limited to 1080p due to chipset deficiencies.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G does have one small but potentially quite significant thing going for it that the 5G model lacks – a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Unboxing
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G ships in a rather unassuming two-piece cardboard box. It is quite thick and provides plenty of protection for shipping. The color scheme of choice is red and white, which is quite eye-catching. There is only cardboard on the inside of the box, which is quite eco-friendly.
The accessory package is quite lavish, especially by modern standards. You get a soft and pretty thick gray TPU case in the box. Of course, there is a USB Type-A to Type-C cable. Along with it, Xiaomi also throws in a 45W fast charger. It should, however, be noted that due to EU regulations, those markets do not get a charger in the box. Another important note to make – both the charger and the cable are proprietary, and you should keep track of both in order to charge at full speed.
