Yahoo Search is pushing its AI-powered Scout directly into search results

Yahoo launched a new feature called Yahoo Scout back in January, similar in concept to Google’s AI Mode. I spotted this and shared it on X.

Just like Google’s AI Overviews, Scout appears above your regular search results, and here’s what it looks like:

Yahoo is now testing a section within its search results called “Explore AI results with Yahoo Scout.” This section shows queries related to what the user searched for, and clicking on one of these redirects to Yahoo Scout.

This section appears in two places on the results page — on the left side and again at the bottom. Here is what it looks like:

I also tested this on mobile, where Yahoo has made a similar change. Below the search bar, Yahoo now shows follow-up queries, and clicking on one of these also redirects users into Yahoo Scout.

This looks like Yahoo’s attempt to build its own AI-powered search layer, giving users a path into a more conversational search experience — not unlike what Google has been rolling out with AI Mode.
