Metro by T-Mobile has introduced a limited-time offer aimed at customers willing to bring their existing phone and number to the prepaid carrier. New customers who switch in stores can pay $15 per month for their first three months before moving to Metro’s $25-per-month Bring Your Own Device plan with AutoPay.
The promotion is available in stores only and gives customers a lower-cost entry point without requiring them to purchase a new phone. After the introductory three-month period ends, service continues at $25 per month with AutoPay on the qualifying BYOD plan.
A Lower-Cost Way to Switch to Metro
Bring Your Own Device plans are designed for customers who already have a compatible phone and would rather keep using it than finance or purchase another handset when changing carriers.
For new Metro customers, the latest offer cuts the monthly cost to $15 during the first three months. That works out to $45 for the introductory service period before the regular $25 monthly AutoPay rate takes effect.
Customers must bring both an existing device and phone number to qualify, and the promotion must be activated at a Metro by T-Mobile retail location.
Metro did not provide an end date for the limited-time pricing.
Metro Adds a $35 BYOD Plan With Canada and Mexico Benefits
Metro is expanding its Bring Your Own Device lineup with a separate $35 monthly plan carrying additional international features.
The new plan includes unlimited calling and texting to and from Mexico and Canada, along with up to 5GB of data roaming. That could make it a practical option for customers who regularly communicate or travel across the northern or southern U.S. borders and want those features included in their monthly service.
The $35 option joins Metro’s existing BYOD offerings rather than replacing the promotional $15 introductory deal or the $25 AutoPay plan.
Prepaid Service Without an Annual Contract
Metro by T-Mobile operates as a prepaid wireless provider using T-Mobile’s nationwide network. Its plans do not require annual service contracts, giving customers predictable monthly billing without the longer commitments associated with some postpaid plans.
Subscribers receive access to T-Mobile Tuesdays as part of Metro service, providing rotating offers and promotions through T-Mobile’s customer rewards program.
The latest BYOD promotion continues Metro’s focus on customers who want to switch carriers without swapping perfectly usable hardware at the same time. For people already happy with their phone, cutting the service bill may be the more appealing upgrade anyway.
