Google has been steadily turning traditional search into an AI-first experience, first with AI Overviews and then AI Mode. Now, that approach is showing up where users may not expect it: the Chrome Help Center.
Google appears to be rolling out “Ask Google Help,” a Gemini-powered AI assistant that can answer questions about Chrome directly on the support site. The feature is labeled “Built with Gemini” and describes itself as an “AI assistant for Google Chrome.”

Instead of simply directing users to a static support article, the Help Center can generate an answer to a question or suggested problem. For example, selecting “Fix page loading errors in Chrome” produces a step-by-step troubleshooting response. The answer includes a “View sources” option and can point users to the full Help Center article for more information.

The experience closely resembles Google’s AI Overviews approach: generate an answer first, while still giving users access to the underlying information.
The answers are also generated dynamically. Asking different questions or opening different Help Center pages can produce different responses, rather than simply displaying the same prewritten support content.
The Gemini-powered experience is also available on Chrome for Android, and testing shows it can appear across different browsers, indicating that this is an experience being added to the Help Center itself rather than a Chrome-only feature.
Google is effectively applying the same AI-answer model it has been pushing in Search to its own support content. The Help Center is no longer just a place to search through Chrome documentation; Gemini is being put in front of that documentation to generate conversational answers for users.
